Train from Dali to Lijiang

This was a very interesting two-hour train trip, along the eastern edge of ErHai Lake. It was one of the strangest, too. The train tracks are raised high above the valleys on soaring bridges, except when there’s a mountain in the way. Then there’s a tunnel. Sometimes the tunnels are long, sometimes the bridges are long. Sometimes each is very short, like a small burst of sunlight between two tunnels. And is is mostly straight. It seems as if the builders wanted to build a straight and level rail track between Dali and Lijiang and settled on the bridges and tunnels method as the way to do it. P.S. No pictures, since most of the trip was inside tunnels!
