One Doll Delivered

I came to China bringing 5 dolls that my friends made to bring to Chinese children. It has been hard to get access to children. I have asked our guides about it, but they have been reluctant. However, I was finally able to convince TaoYun, our wonderful guide in Guanxi Province to take a doll for her daughter. TaoYun is one of the lucky parents. She is a farmer, married to a man of ethnic minority, which allowed them to have two children if the first was a girl. So they have a girl and a boy. I invited her to take a doll for her son as well, but she declined, embarrassed. So here is a picture of TaoYun with the doll for her daughter and one tiny piece of maple candy that she will share with the whole family.
